In 1914 Germany allied with Austria and Turkey. Then in 1917 The United States joined forces with Britian, France, Russia, Italy, and Japan to defeat Germany and its allies in WW1. A democratic state, known as the Weimar Republic was established in 1918. The country's humiliation got worse when an economic depression hit them in the 1920's. After WW2 (world war two) Germany split into two occupation zones to facilitate disarmament and to organize a democracy. In 1957 West Germany was one of the founders of the E.U., and it had joined NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organizations) in 1955. However, the German constitution restricted NATO'S military to German soil. In 1993 policy changes allows German troops to participate in UN peacekeeping and relief operation in Somalia and Yugoslavia. Germany has the largest economy and the second largest population next to Russia.

Germany was an original founder of the E.U. in 1951, along with Italy, France, Spain, and Netherlands. Now more and more countries are following these six countries example and now 27 countries have joined the E.U. Germany has 16 states and their capital is Berlin. Their type of government is a complimentary government demorocay. From March 1, 2002, forward, 12 European countries Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Spain, are to have one currency, the euro. Germany’s original currency is the Deutschmark and now it is the E.U. dollar.With the major economies of Germany and France in the middle, the doubts and divisions over the European project have been small compared with those of Britain. Germany is one of the most donating to the E.U. Slightly smaller than the state of Montana, Germany lies in central Europe. It borders the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, as well as Austria and Belgium.
3. How does the E.U. and your country feel about global temperatures/climate change? (environmental issue)
The E.U. is active in taking actions towards global temperatures. The E.U.'s dependence on Fossil Fuel has increased more rapidly sinse the 4th N.C. they have developed a strategy to the development of a cost-effective low carbon technology. A shipping group in Germany said "global warming was likely responsible for the retreat of artic ice along the north east passage". Germany was forced to turn to other countries for its energy. In 2005 Germany's government decided to put a natural gas pipeline under ground going from Russia ( Germany's Largest Resource) all the way to Germany. The Government has agreed to shut down all 17 power plants remaining in the country, now they are trying new resorption. Germany has to help to find a way to fix global warming or decrease it making it slower.Germany is committed to stabilizing their greenhouse output by 2000 at 1990 levels. Jun 24, 2009 A report released at the just-concluded climate negotiations in Bonn, Germany, says global warming will submerge island states, destroy farmlands and force millions of people into migration by 2050. Rejection of the Kyoto treaty on global warming, upsetting Germany and other European countries where climate change is a political issue.

4. How does the E.U. and your country feel about supporting the war in Afghanistan? (political issue)
Germany has about 4,300 soldiers in Afghanistan most of them are in the north part of the country the third largest contingent in the American ted NATO (north Atlantic treaty organization). The age limit of the army is 16-49 years of age. Military expend it uses is 1.5% GDF. The E.U. and government of Islam Republic of Afghanistan are committed to secure soluble, free, prosperous and democratic Afghanistan. The E.U. is one of Afghanistan's largest donors. Germany pledged military support for United States invasion of Afghanistan. In 2001 and sent a large group of troops, voting in successive years to extend the deployment of those units. Now Germany is finally and publicly beginning to debate the use of its military as a fighting force. Linkspartei also calls for Germany to withdraw from NATO. It's long been clear that Germany was getting involved in a shooting war. First sent in 2001 with strict orders to stay out of any fighting, the Bundeswehr has in recent months been drawn into combat alongside NATO troops and local Afghan forces. To date, 35 German soldiers have died. In July, the Bundeswehr struck back with the first German infantry offensive since the Second World War. Germany, which has the largest number of NATO troops in Afghanistan after Britain and is now in command in the north.

Germany is required at the end of each year to submit an update of the medium term-physical. Germany is one of the top economic powers in the world and provides leadership and generous financial support to the E.U. for weaker countries. Germany is 29% industry 1% Agriculture and 70% services. Recently West Germany has been submitted to NATO which is a North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The proposal was employed in 1954 providing for termination of the occupation regime of the remaining West Germany. Now the West European Union is over shadowed by the rest of the east European union .
